FAQ'S

1

WHERE ARE YOUR FIREPLACES MADE?

All our fireplaces are made in Europe. The manufacturing company has been producing and developing closed combustion fireplaces for more than 26 years. They have CE and ISO certification and their fireplaces sell throughout Europe and are exported worldwide.

3

WHAT IS THE “EFFICIENCY” RATING OF A FIREPLACE?

This is how much of the energy contained in a fuel the fireplace can deliver to the room. The average efficiency of an open fire is 25 – 30 %. Our fireplaces have an efficiency rating of 75 – 80 %, meaning you will get three times as much heat as you would from burning the same fuel on an open fire.

5

DO YOU CARRY SPARES?

Yes. We stock spare parts such as handles, air sliders, rope seal, glass, fire-bricks, grates etc.

7

DOES THE PRICE OF FIREPLACES INCLUDE FLUES OR INSTALLATION?

No. The flues are sold separately in kit form and / or based on your specific requirements. We do not offer installation.

9

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUY CHEAPER FLUES?

Flue costs can be reduced by using thinner gauge 0.4 mm pipe or lower grade 430 stainless steel. These are fine, but please bear this in mind if trying to compare like-for-like prices. We do not recommend using galvanised flue pipes.

11

HOW MUCH WOOD SHOULD THE FIREPLACE BURN PER HOUR?

This depend on the specific fireplace you have installed. The wood type, air vent settings and other factors will also make a difference. Wood consumption varies from 1kg to 5kg per hour. Larger fireplaces will use more wood.

13

HOW DO I ORDER?

Use our contact page, email or call us with your requirements. Each fireplace is quality checked before it leaves our premises and comes with comprehensive instructions and 12 months warranty. Visit our contact page here

2

WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO REASONABLE?

We keep our costs and margins to an absolute minimum without compromising on quality. Much of our business is web based and we employ no agents or middle men. All our fireplaces meet strict manufacturing requirements to ensure superior value and complete safety.

4

WHAT IS THE KW OUTPUT?

This is a measure of heat the fireplace can efficiently deliver. The Kw and efficiency ratings are determined by an independent body as part of the European certification.

6

IS IT SAFE TO HAVE GLASS IN THE DOORS?

Yes. Our fireplaces use German-made, ceramic SCHOTT glass. It is highly specialised, durable and capable of withstanding 850°C.

8

HOW MUCH WILL THE FLUE/CHIMNEY COST?

This depends on whether you are installing the flue internally (directly through the ceiling and roof), or externally (out through the wall and then up the outside wall). Other factors such as single or double storey installation, roof type, etc., will determine cost. View basic costs here

10

WHAT TYPE OF WOOD SHOULD I USE?

For maximum efficiency and minimal harm to the environment, use dry, seasoned, hard wood. Don’t use wet wood which will may cause a lot of smoke and damage the glass of the fireplace.

12

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes. We deliver nationwide, using reputable, recognised courier services.
